KARMA KIT CAR FIRE AND THUNDER The first few exciting weeks were spent tiding up the lose ends left on the car. I had to get the engine running. I knew that when I did I'd want to drive it, so bodging the beetle steering column and connecting the pedals was simple enough. Reassembling the gear lever, left sorting out the wires for the engine. We have a guy on site who can get rusty old scrap engines to run ( Lister and the type), but this V6 had an electronic ignition and he shied away from the job. So I wired it up the best I could after buying things like the starter solenoid and an earth lead ( the car had no wiring loom) connecting the fuel pump to a gallon can of petrol I sparked a live wire to the starter motor.... No exhaust pipes! boy was it loud! but it fired! and ran.
OK, super car here we come.
Engaging reverse and with the remnants of down pipes spiting flames, I reversed the Ferrari out of the work shop it was pushed into.
Below... bulk head cut from MDF and painted red since I was depressed with all the black.
Notice that I've already replaced the steering column with one from a ford Escort and fitted a heater box from the same. A bit of modification and the heater will suck air from outside and recycle air from inside at the same time. I wonder how that will cope in winter?
The snap off steering wheel boss came from my old Escort the other bits from the scrap yard.
